I have 2 dogs and I love being involved in lots of dog sports/activities. I have competed in agility and rally.I have also done volunteer work through Therapy Dogs of Vermont. There is nothing better than volunteering and playing with your dog at the same time! I have learned so much through all the dog training classes I have taken and I love sharing dog stories with others.
Education and Professional Experiences
I grew up in Wethersfield, CT and then I went to college at St. Mike’s. I have taught first grade for over 20 years! I taught for three years in Shaftsbury, VT (down near Bennington) and then I applied to Winooski and I’ve been here ever since!
What has been your greatest learning experience? (in or out of school)
I think being a teacher is the greatest learning experience. You get to push your thinking every single day! I love being part of a grand conversation and just listening to my class discuss a book. I love when my first graders make me look at a book in a new way!
Who do you admire and why?
I admire my parents. My parents have always worked hard but they also make family a priority. Thanks for always being there!
What do you love about your current WSD position and the WSD community?
I love working with kids and adults who love to learn and that is what I find in Winooski! My students get excited about all subject areas and my colleagues help me to be a better teacher. We are smarter together!
